Risky Business

Miriam-Webster’s definition of risk is the possibility of danger or the probability of loss. Here are some other ways risk is described in a sinister and negative way:

  • lay it on the line
  • dance on the razor’s edge
  • play with fire
  • Russian roulette
  • take the bear by the tooth
  • head in the lion’s mouth
  • leap in the dark

What if taking on risk actually means we are embracing adventure? In a more optimistic view of risk, our lives are filled each day with opportunities for adventure, joy, excitement, and passion. Isn’t this a better way to look at risk?

When you wake up in the morning, let yourself risk being passionate, inspired, and willing to fill your day with wisdom.
